So much to write about tonight after our adventure today! We woke up bright and early to catch our 9am bus that took us, and a few other hotel guests on a 9 hour tour of Oahu. We pretty much saw most of the island and it was AMAZING!
From our hotel we headed up to the mountains via the H3 freeway, which apparently is the newest of the freeways here on Oahu and cost around 17 billion dollars to create, but in my opinion, it is worth every single dime because the views are just incredible. Unlike anything I have seen before and it is actually a freeway that makes you WANT to drive on it, rather than avoid! It took us all the way through the valleys and we ended up at a mountain lookout that was out of this world. Awesome views…even a few wild cats and chickens roaming around!
From there we headed down to Waikiki, which was exactly as we expected…full of tourists and busy. Not my favorite spot on the island so far..I like where we are as it is more quiet. It was however interesting to see though. Lots of nice shops in that area too such as Gucci, Chanel, Ralph Lauren and so on. Out of Waikiki we went east and carried on that way around the entire island. Stopping a little beaches and spectacular viewpoints. I took a lot of photos today so have uploaded more into this post than the previous ones. The pictures do not do the place justice though…I cannot write how much this place has blown me away. I never knew what to expect from Hawaii really. In my opinion, this place does not feel like it is part of the United States, it feels like it is it’s own country. Maybe because it is out in the middle of the ocean, not sure, but either way, it is amazing and if you EVER get the chance to come here…do it!
We stopped off and had some lunch at a great ranch, which is actually a filming location for a few movies including Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Godzilla and couple of others. Looking at the mountains, I could not help by have the Jurassic Park theme song in my head the entire time. Was crazy!
After a busy and long day today, we have a relaxation day tomorrow. Probably going to stay around the resort, the pool and beach area. Taking it easy! In the evening we have an event in the resort gardens called FIA FIA that we are attending. So it should be a lot of fun and interesting! The next day however, will be even more exciting though because we are going Dolphin and Whale watching, plus scuba diving afterwards! Can’t wait for that one 😀
Anyway, that is my round up for today! Hope you enjoy the pictures! Hugs ❤
